I reckon this was a part for a Mexican Beetle.
The spare black wire made me wonder as did the additional switched contacts then the wrong number of pins confirmed it wasn't the same as my March 1973 1300 Beetle.
My loom plug is a loose fit on the switch and I only have single-speed wipers now.
Not the end of the world but I wish I'd been less Scottish and paid the extra 25 quid and gone Heritage. Will do next time.
