I was an early adopter of the large raised Vegepod. A few years later, I added a second large raised Vegepod. They work well. The systems keeps out deer, rabbits, birds and most insects. It is excellent for growing mid to small-sized vegetables and herbs. It is not designed to grow typical tomato plants (too tall and wide) or for spreaders, like cucumbers and the like. Some of the downsides: they are heavy, especially when watered. The legs, however, are thin. As a result, the system must be installed over a very sturdy, level base. And durability of the accessories is an issue - especially as you get into and beyond seasons 2 and 3. For example, the plastic mesh frame pieces (especially the corners) tend to crack over time. The mesh tends to rip over time. The mesh seems to shrink a bit each season, which strains the plastic frame. Something ate through my mesh as well. The misters clog up and I have not found a reliable, easy method to clean them out (I have tried soaking, cleaning, high-pressure air, etc.). Vegepod has excellent customer service and it sells and ships replacement parts, and some third-party equipment will fit as well. But I knocked off a star because every new season I have to fix-up the system.
