Our holiday with Viking River Cruises in China (Imperial Jewels - July 2014) met all our expectations and more. The service we received both on board the river cruise and from our tour guide was throughout excellent. Great Wall of China, Eternal City, Terracotta Army - fantastic.
Re excursions: we are very pleased we took all the options we could fit in - if you are advised not to take any excursion, check carefully as we found Viking guidance to be very cautious. It meant a few long days, but it was very much worth it.
