I placed my order with wheelbase over other companies based on their website stating 2-3 days shipping and products be advertised as being “ In Stock”.
I received an email shortly after stating that my order would take 1-2 weeks which I was a bit disappointed with as it stated they normally ship within a few days but my order had to come direct from supplier, so clearly “in stock” is false advertising to get you to part with the funds.
I emailed in first instance to try and get a firmer delivery date as I had ordered alloys and tyres to be fitted prior to MOT.
After a week of no reply to my direct email I thought I’d try the “ contact us” email form via the website, again no response after a few days, so I messaged via the Facebook page. I received a reply the following day, was told they had not received my previous emails, so I sent screenshots as proof.
Anyway I thought let’s move forward, ats this point I was told my alloys would not be in country until mid of following week, which would of taken me to 3weeks from ordering, and I can only imagine another week to be fitted with tyres dispatched and delivered to myself. I was told “ look and see if I could see an alternative from the website” I replied to this fb message if they could advise on which alternatives were in stock, to save a back and forth. I received no reply .
At this stage I emailed customer support requesting a refund, the lady that replied genuinely seemed to help and save me cancelling, after a exchange of emails and again forwarding email threads to prove I had been attempting contact, she advised Dave the in sales would be in contact immediately.
No contact from Dave so I emailed the helpful woman the following day to process my refund, Dave emailed 10 minutes later showing 3 alternative choices, none looked even close to what I had ordered in style or colour. So I replied at 10:43 asking about a particular alloy I liked on their website with regards to availability, so after no reply from Dave I emailed the helpful woman at 18:08 asking for full refund, Dave replies at 18:24 saying “sorry email was in junk folder” which may be true but I had replied directly to his email so I find it hard to believe, and going by the terrible communication thus far…….
I am a reasonable person and understand there can be delays but it’s the non communication that lets them down big time, and after experiencing it first hand I looked at recent online reviews of wheelbase and I am not the only one raising these issues and it seems to be a trend that the are selling products as “in stock” when this is not the case. I thought maybe I was unlucky that stock status is not updated live minute by minute, but I have checked everyday for 19 days and item shows as in stock. I don’t know if advertising products as in stock when they know it is not breaks any trading standards etc but in the least it is very underhanded and misleading to customers, I was between two companies, wheelbase were slightly more expensive but due to there website stating 2-3 days shipping on in stock products I went with them.
Very very disappointed.
