Using the reset software was very simple. I just followed the instructions. Entered the key I purchased, completed the remaining steps and I was good to go. I am completely satisfied. The saturated ink pads will still need to be replaced or the printer quality will evetually degrade. But in the meantime, you can keep printing while the replacement pads come in. I have the Epson XP-860 and there are many videos online walking ond through replacement of the pads.
