We have just returned from a family holiday at the Woolacombe Bay Holiday Park. We camped and it is our first experience of not having any outdoor space. The whole reason we enjoy camping as a family is so that we have an area outside out tent for the children to play. This was impossible, we were all packed in like sardines. In fact, we had to park our car in the main car park for the duration of our holiday because there wasn't enough space for this either. There were plenty of toilets and shower rooms and we never had to queue for one. Cleanliness was ok but would recommend a regular deep clean. There were cobwebs on window cills that looked like they had been around for a few months. We did see the floors being cleaned on a regular basis, but sinks etc were days between each clean. There was a distinct lack of soap in the toilets. Despite asking for the soap dispensers to be refilled, 24 hours later, they still hadn't. On a plus side, the staff were good. Happy to help, friendly and always had a smile. The park itself was clean and there was plenty of activities for the children. Woolacombe Bay need to rethink their reception area. We were constantly queuing to see a receptionist. You had to visit them to get tokens to access the pool, hire equipment for the outdoor activities, purchase spa treatments etc etc. The park is busy so there was always a queue!
