Very good product. No side effects except a little tingling when applied. First left on for only 6 minutes total (including advised pre-shower 1 minute wait time). I have quite course hair and this didn't make much of a dent in it, though it did make shaving the same area less painful and coarse. I then tried again in another area and left on for the maximum advised time, which did remove most of the hair.
