Graham Stuart
I ordered a $2000 guitar. They had one at another store and it took a week for them to get it to the store in London. So far everything is perfect. I told them when I would be coming in to pick it up. I get to the store and the guitar is there and they open up the box....... It's beautiful..... I plug the guitar in and that's when everything went to hell. Keep in mind this is not a $200 Chinese Fender product. The guitar out the door is over $2000. The frets had not been sanded. They had not been cut off at the side of the fret board properly. They had not been rounded off at the edges. They had not been polished. The neck was bowed.... We're not talking neck relief here.... It was bowed. The trust rod adjuster did not come with the guitar. So adjusting it was not gonna happen. This guitar has a Floyd rose locking system on it. I unlocked the nut and started the process of tuning the guitar and I noticed there were issues with 2 of the tuners. After I locked the nut down and went to the fine tuners at the bridge it was almost impossible to tune them up or down. It was as if they were rusted solid. The bridge was obviously installed by somebody that did not know what they were doing. This is not a floating bridge. this is the evh bridge. Not very hard to set up..... I didn't even attempt to put it at the right position. It would stay in tune for about 30 seconds without touching the tremolo arm. After 15 minutes I took the guitar up to the front and I laid it down on the table and told the lady that there's absolutely no way I was purchasing this instrument in this kind of condition. I told her everything that was wrong with it and the response shocked me. She said and I quote..... Well you are entitled to a setup if you buy the guitar. I was expecting something along the lines of oh my God we didn't look at this thing before we called you? Or perhaps there's absolutely no way this should be leaving the factory in this kind of condition..... Or perhaps..... This is kind of embarrassing and I apologize that we didn't even open up the box to make sure it was the guitar you had ordered before we called you and told you it was ready to go. No ..... the response I got was You are entitled to a setup if you purchase it. Should have ordered it from sweetwater.
