If i could review a no star at all i would!
I ordered the Atlas Cotbed as a gift for a baby shower. Since it was a gift, I did not want it assembled, and I never checked any box requesting assembly when placing the order. To my shock, when the delivery arrived and I came home, I found the cotbed already built and out of the box in my room.
When I called customer service to sort this out, I was left on hold for 15 minutes only to be told that it’s “company policy” to automatically assemble items unless I personally call and request otherwise. If this is truly a company policy, then why did it take 15 minutes to tell me that? Did the representative have to go revise the policy, or was I just being kept on hold to silence my complaint? Either way, it’s unacceptable.
This is honestly the worst policy I’ve ever heard of. Why should I, as a customer, be forced into assembly I never asked for? Why is the burden on me to call and tell you not to?
A professional approach would be to include a simple check box at checkout asking whether the customer wants assembly or not. Or, at the very least, clearly state this “policy” on the website or app. This was my first order from Mamas & Papas how was I supposed to know this hidden requirement?
To make matters worse, customer service offered no real solution other than returning the cotbed for a refund, which they admitted would take a long time. So now I’m stuck with a fully assembled crib that I have to somehow arrange (and pay extra) to transport as a gift. Bringing a built crib, unboxed, to a baby shower is embarrassing and completely impractical.
Overall, this has been a terrible experience, poor communication, unhelpful policies, and zero customer care. Thank you, Mamas & Papas, for making what should have been a special gift feel like a hassle and humiliation. This will be the last time I order from you
