Put these studs on my Simms lightweight wading boots several months ago and they have worked very well. They grip rocks covered with algae or rock snot without slipping and when walking trails they also grip sloped surfaces well. I've used other carbide or aluminum devices and these work as well or better without all of the added weight which is a real benefit for my sciatic legs. And I have not noticed any significant wear or loss of traction since installation. I would definitely purchase for future wading boots.
