This has been an amazing activity for my 8-yr-old autistic son. If everything isn't exactly how he wants it, it can result in a meltdown. I'm The Chef Too has taught him that cooking is an ART, not a SCIENCE. (Well, it's both, but he doesn't expect perfection from art.) When things have gone sideways and we have had to find creative ways to 'make it work.' (He jumps ahead in the directions and I let him learn that doing so doesn't work out very well. The next time, he slows down and follows the steps the way he is supposed to.) He won't eat his creations - he says they are either 'too flour flavored' or 'too sweet' but he LOVES putting it all together and learning new skills. This has given him something to look forward to each month and he is even branching out to cooking creations outside of the blue box. I would say this has been well worth the investment. My only regret is not purchasing a subscription sooner.
