Decided to try a few of Mak Tok products after seeing Will on Dragons’ Den. Was so pleased to discover that I could skip prepping for rendang by using one of his sauces. It’s has been a god send ever since. No more teary eyes from peeling onions and spending ages to cook the spice mix until oil appears on the surface. Both are my pet hates. Added bonus is that if you follow his recipe card (which he generously gives away as he’s such a sweet chap) you can do rendang in a slow cooker. Genius! For that alone, Will deserves a medal in my book.
Did I mention his sambal? Or chilli paste? His signature sambal is just like the real McCoy nasi lemak sambal. It’s finger licking good 😋 without the hard work of pounding it in a pestle & mortar 😎
His satay sauce is handy to have too. Can have it on my toast to accompany a poached egg if I am feeling a bit indulgent. Delish!
