I love My Pet Chicken. As a new chicken owner, it has been invaluable to have their customer support available for navigating all kinds of issues as I get familiar with caring for these birds. Also the 6-week-old pullets that I have bought from them have been wonderful. They seem awake and present, as if they know or expect that there is a caring person there to take care of them. This speaks to how they are treated in the first weeks of their lives and how they understand humans. By contrast i have ended up adopting some stray chickens (it’s a long story) and when they have voluntarily joined my flock it seems they have to learn that the humans can be trusted. Meanwhile my girls, all from My Pet Chicken, help them shift to the new understanding. I love My Pet Chicken’s approach of love and care for these beings who produce eggs for us and also bring companionship, rather than seeing them as merely livestock.
