If you are thinking about getting gates the single best piece of advice I can give you is: use North Valley Forge. They were, quite literally, exceptional. Their designs, quality, range of options were all beautiful. What really, truly made them exemplary however was two things: 1) Customer Service. I have been a loyal customer of some of the most prestigious companies and shops in the country and the customer service I received from NVF was among the best I have ever had. Simply put: if you’re not 100% happy, neither are they. On the rare chance something is not 100% right, they WILL put it right. Without quibble, without trying to upsell, without delay. 2) Empowerment and effective problem solving. Far too many contractors/ tradespersons these days turn up, do what the tick sheet says, and hand you the bill. Not in this case. The people and specialists who work for NVF actually doing the installing clearly enjoyed what they did and enjoyed working for NVF. Best of all, they were empowered and trusted to use their experience and situational awareness to agree deviating from the plan with you as the project evolved- without ratcheting up the agreed price. This was to ensure you get the effect you actually want instead of the exact dimensions you agreed at the start of the process. They anticipate potential problems or benefits/ improvements well ahead of time and act accordingly. Head office would then be back-briefed that the plan had changed and it would be actioned happily. There was no micro-management, bureaucracy, or penny-pinching and profiteering. It was like working with genuine craftspeople as opposed to just contractors. It was an absolute delight to work with North Valley. I would, and have, recommend them to anyone with evangelical fervour, including you, dear reader.
