We contacted Pickstar, to procure a Guest speaker for an International Day of People with Disability function at our [Govt Dept] workplace. The EOI was sent out to talent, based on our location in Perth and up to the maximum of our budget at the time. We were after a speaker who had a disability themselves, to be able to share their story, triumphs, challenges and inspiration. Our shortlisted star, Georgia, realised she was not going to be able to attend in the week before the event and took it upon herself to contact one of her colleagues to see if they could stand in instead, so we were grateful that Georgia had taken the initiative to provide us with an alternative. We had good communication from both Georgia's management, (stand-in speaker) Amber's management and our Pickstar booking manager, Nick Menechella. Additionally, when Nick was out of office and I needed to resolve the changeover of talent booking from one name to another, Pickstar Admin assisted promptly. The website, booking and payment procedures are easy to navigate and the messaging function helps to keep track of where things are at. My only suggestion would be, that sometimes messaging for all comm's is not always practical and phone conversations are easier for sorting any queries and information quickly. Management and guests at our function were very happy with Amber's keynote speech and willingness to go over & above with sharing her story, Q&A session that followed and bringing in her medals for guests to see! We would use Pickstar again.
