i used my EVL-12 D4 12" 2500 Watt Max Power Dual 4 Ohm Car Subwoofer for less then a month with my alpine 1,100w rms amp and i did give it a very good break in period and it still started popping and over heating im running between 800-950w rms. this sub is rated at 1,250w rms. i am very disappointed. Skar had such good reviews and recommendations. now i have to pay shipping to have it replaced i dont know if its even worth it if its just gonna do the same thing when i get the new one. i was happy when i first got it my spl went up from 134 to 138 after replacing my Rockford Fosgate P3 with the Skar EVL-12. but i was able to push the same amp and watts for the past 3 years on that p3 before it blew.
