For the aides that are on the market Stockingaid is the most practical solution in that you don't have to be a contortionist to use it. The sleek plastic foot guide makes a great deal of difference. You end up sliding your foot down and out into the stocking. If your foot is not almost perfectly aligned the best you can hope for is a rather painful experience.
