As a woman of Latin background, I have very thick dark body hair. I am using nood under my arms and bikini area. I am about 6 weeks in and although I am no where near being hair free, I do notice the hair is thinning out. I have been using it at the highest setting 2-3x a week. I am encouraged with my progress and will keep going. I will say though, it is NOT pain free. As the hair thins it is definitely less painful, but because I use a higher setting it does have a similar sting of lazer hair removal.
