African Drumming is the leading Australian online retailer of quality African drums and world percussion, including djembes & bongos.

We offer workshops and interactive performances including team building sessions, school and kinder incursions, and much more.
Our Teacher Training program is offered anywhere in Australia and NZ, as well as online. Our annual retreats travel across Australia, New Zealand, Bali and West Africa.

“I am very happy with the carry bag I purchased for my Djembe. It fits perfectly, is of good quality and arrived very quickly. Also, when I made my online purchase I ended up doing a duplicate order as I thought the first one had failed. Turned out that was not the case, but when I rang the next day to sort it out the staff had already noticed the issue and were going to contact me about it. So, excellent customer service too!”

“A great quality kit and very easy to follow video instructions. I had so much fun making my drum and it sounds amazing. I did punch the holes with a regular one-hole hole punch before I soaked it. I tried it on a scrap piece first and it wouldn’t work once the skin was soaked. The sound changes with humidity, I like that it’s sort of alive. I drew the design with a sharpie.”

“We've bought several items from African Drumming and have always been impressed with the good quality and reasonable price of the products. It's also great to see and hear them being demonstrated by Simon (who wouldn't love his enthusiasm :) ) in the African Drumming website video. We were really happy with the shamanic drum frames and also the drum bags. Our latest items have been rain sticks, an ocean drum, a tongue drum and various shakers, all of which will give our Sound Healing sessions an "African feel".
