“The problem with owning anything more than 10 years old is obtaining the correct parts. After a thoroughly disappointing and cut short ride on my old Scott Boulder due to a malfunctioning rear mech I found the issue in it being worn out. The next issue was finding a 9 speed mech as most higher quality derailleurs are 11 and 12 speed. However after some research I managed to find a brand new 9spd Deore at bike parts.co.uk at a decent price. After ordering I expected the usual long winded wait but no , to my surprise it arrived in a couple of days. Now fitted and functioning beautifully. I can ride on lovely stress free journeys again.
