“I’m completely disgusted and in shocking what I have just seen what has been happening in the Co-Op Central Hill London since last May until now 18 July 2018.
They are doing a construction work inside the store at open hours and without any plastic drop to cover the food products on the shelves, in the food standard way.
I couldn’t believe they have cracked and removing the floor tiles while they are trading. There are dusty and dirty every way and are going to the food products. At the same time, the construction guys are replacing new floor tiles. That is very poor hygiene, I have ever seen in any food store. It is not safe and is risks to the customer and staff health.
Very dangerous what your construction guys are doing:
Concrete dust is not nice stuff. It contains silicates which are known to cause various lung conditions. It's probably carcinogenic too. Staff are not wearing a appropriate respirator equipment or neither the construction workers while working and products aren’t being cleaned-up and covered properly.
Co-op head office manager, according to the Law when you are doing a construction inside any store, especially food store; The Law says you must keep every part of your construction site in ‘good order’ and every place of work clean. YOU ARE RISKING PEOPLE HEALTH AND YOUR COMPANY is NOT FOLLOWING THE HEALTH AND SAFETY LAW! SHAME ON YOUR COMPANY AND IT SHOULD BE SHUT DOWN!”
