“Turning a growing interest into a proper education. I decided to take the EWA online Certificate in Scotch Whisky in late 2022. I really enjoyed it and learned a lot more than I expected to. I was able to absorb the information at my own speed and anytime something confused me, I could easily post my question and get a reply to clear things up. Before I even finished the course I knew I wanted to take the Diploma in Single Malt as well. I'm sure the online diploma would have been sufficient, but timing worked out where I was able to travel to the in-person course, and I'm sure glad I did! I enjoyed studying the online modules in the months before the course, and then had a wonderful time at Arniston House in Edinburgh. Everyone was great, and our instructor did all he could to prepare us well. It was a fun experience and I'm proud of my result. Since the course I've found myself in conversations with other whisky enthusiasts, experts, or people within the industry, and I'm quite proud of where my knowledge level is. Of course always eager to keep learning! I've now started on the Certificate in Irish Whiskey, and seriously thinking about career moves.”
