“Chose a company through Go Compare which was a reasonable quote. Went through the process of setting up payments and direct debit with the insurance company. I made a deposit to the insurance company and as it finished, their site crashed. I checked my account and the money had been taken. I phoned the company who informed me the insurance had not gone live as I’d not bought it. After spending half a day waiting and chasing info, they phoned me back the next day to tell me they had found the payment. By this time I’d already gone with an insurance company that wasn’t on a compare site. I’m now awaiting a refund, if they remember.”
