“Newchip is on a great path. Having worked with a established accelerator is DC previously, Newchip is doing a few things differently that I appreciate. 1) Flexibility - One of my startups, ChangeUp, requested to move faster to the fundraising stage, and Newchip accommodated them. 2) Showcasing - with such a massive amount of companies in the accelerator, the showcase events are huge which has its pros for certain types of investors. 4) Focus - having 3 real deliverables, it is fairly easy for startups to stay focused on what they need to do for the accelerator. There are a few areas of improvement that I see in terms of being an accelerator. 1) Networking for Startups - there are huge benefits that startups get from interacting with one another, even spontaneously, from bouncing ideas off of each other to sharing contacts. Finding organic, somewhat formal ways for this to happen would be great. 2) Set Formal Goals - with each startup I work with, I have them write down goals they have for the end of 2020. If they write them down, and consistently see them, the more likely they are to push harder for them. I think outlining goals and stretch goals could be a great way for investors to gage how well startups have used their time in Newchip.”
“Now, being 3-months into program I can honestly say that the advisor we were assigned is spot on and the coursework modules has had us not only wowing inside of our investor meetings but also organizing our business in such a way that we are clear on where we are going in the future!
Some quick constructive feedback would be when we have been looking to take advantage of the one-on-one coaching sessions, etc.. the communication could be better if the mentor or advisor cannot be present.
Otherwise, we have no doubt we will be able to close out our pre-seed round successfully leveraging New Chips top notch educational content.”

“Great team great content very pragmatic and honest. Only as good as the work you are willing to put in and be ready to put in work. I wish there was more cohort interaction and synergistic cohorts. Also our launch to initial meetings seemed truncated it seemed some administrative items slipped through cracks and felt slightly a short turn around from launch to very important meetings I would have hoped for more time with the content as that along with preparing your own materials along with operating your business is a hard to have s meaningful discussion within 3 weeks from launch meeting mentor and expected to have KPI tracking all decided and filled out on top of the normal curriculum and content. It has not allowed me to explore the other amazing tools offered! CONNECT, Mastermind snd more!
Thanks this is a great idea if you look for angel investors and institutional investors I know many raising capital has never been our issue strategic capital has but we have a decent network of angels in the D.C. area and other groups around the US and abroad from Silicon Valley, to South Caroline, NYC and Washington D.C., as well as UAE, Saudi and Qatar funds.
