“Many times I’ve had my tracked signed AIRMAIL parcels to the USA sent surface mail after I’ve paid for Airmail tracked signed for. The tracking continues to say we have your package and it’s being prepared for delivery overseas. This can be showing for weeks and weeks... then I’ve phoned customer service after waiting for up to 30 minutes to get through, only to be told that it’s been sent surface mail.... on a boat that takes weeks to get there.
All these are wrongly diverted to surface mail by an overzealous X-ray operative.. this is obvious as I send dozens of the same thing to the USA every week and they don’t get diverted to surface mail. What is annoying is not just the unnecessary surface mail, but I’ve paid Airmail rates, I’ve paid up to £16 to wait on the phone to their always busy customer service number and they won’t report the correct status on the online system. It’s a fraudulent activity in effect. Some one needs to take them on big time over their scammy rubbish service.”
