“Independent businesses usually offer a better service than large corporations and Sherlock & Pages is no exception. They despatch orders at the first available moment after receipt, pack them beautifully, and trust a carrier who also works efficiently. I have bought several books from them and have no hesitation recommending them.”

“S&P is a beautiful welcoming curated bookshop on the cobbled Catherine Hill in Frome. I’ve tagged them on bookshop.org, bought direct from their website, and made a visit. I love the gentle commitment to nature and our relations with it and the excellent local sites to see recommendations. Use it. This is one of the good ones.”

“Excellent service and delivery was prompt and carefully wrapped. I really like the website as it gives lists of recommendations for different topics which helps you decide what to read next. The Instagram page also has lots of interesting suggestions and discussions so even though I’ve never visited the shop I feel like I have! I read a range of fiction and non fiction with a particular interest in nature and historical fiction and I find lots in their online shop. Also, it feels good to support an independent bookshop.”

“This is a truly wonderful bookshop with a great variety of books. The titles are ones that are not so readily available in more conventional bookshops or websites. Luke and his team are fantastic at providing recommendations and highlighting certain titles. Customer service is courteous and efficient. I have already identified several books as Christmas presents for family and friends who are all tricky to by for.”

“The book I ordered was delivered really speedily, safe and sound all the way from Somerset to Orkney. It wasn't a fiction book I'd seen anywhere else but S&P's focus on the natural world mean they offered something completely different. I was inspired to buy a book from the shop because I follow the brilliant videos on social media and, even though I live hundreds of miles away, I wanted to support this unique bookshop. Highly recommended.”

“Love the reading recommendations, whilst not in the Uk I do live the interviews with writers and have now read several of the books recommended. I had them shipped and the service was prompted. The team even suggested a cheaper way to post which I appreciated. Definitely on my list to visit in 2025. Keep up the excellent work.”

“While I’ve never had the pleasure of visiting Frome and the shop in person, my online experience and my social media interactions with Luke have been extraordinary! I recently ordered two books, which arrived at my door in Canada well packaged and in beautiful condition. Cannot wait to explore the shop and Frome in person very soon!”

“I have had several orders from Sherlock and Pages, and they have become one of my favourite bookshops! I decided last year to try and avoid a certain giant corporation and having discovered the joy of beautifully wrapped and boxed books which arrive looking like they’ve been treated with care is just so lovely!! The books arrive very quickly (to the East Yorkshire Coast), and I’ve never had to wait more than a couple of days. It is one of my first go-to bookshops now, even though I live far, far away!!”

“Luke and Agathe have started something good in this little shop in Frome; something that will continue to grow and make a real difference. It’s exciting to find such a carefully and tastefully curated range of books on all the topics I love to read about, and the Sherlock & Pages passion for excellent writing is infectious. Although I have purchased from the shop during a visit to Somerset, I have used the website too, and can recommend it. A wonderful range of books and quick delivery once you’ve made your choice.
