“from entering the carvery you are made to feel welcome more like family than customers, then you meet Gemma our bubbly waitress who goes above and beyond to make your meal enjoyable, Dean the carver polite and efficient.then the food only one word excellent as always, prefer this toby to any other around the country, if i could i would give then 10 stars not 5.”
“Absolutely beautiful meal today must give compliments to the chefs and the staff were brilliant today. The meat and veg was perfectly fresh with a great choice.”
“Wowwww is the only way to start this review from walking in to leaving the staff greeted us with a smile our waitress for the night Hollie was absolutely amazing the food just to another level it was amazing and the price was very very reasonable what we had…thank you so much Toby Carvery Wolviston we will be back xxxx”
“Further to your reply to my review. I did as you asked and sent you photos and a cover email of my parking ticket using my wife's email...i haven't had a reply..is this because I had already paid the fine?”
“I had a meal at the Toby Carvery Wolviston on the 01.02.2020 for my 68th birthday. I paid for the meal which appears on my bank statement. The parking fine has just caught up with me. I have just paid £129.00. The car was given to me by my sons partner who moved from the address the car was registered at and the delay in registering the car to my address meant the correspondence has only just reached me.
I have tried phoning the general manager and the the Carvery itself without success. Reading the available information apparently I should have registered the car number when I entered the restaurant . I can see that other people have been 'caught out' in a similar way. The standard answer seems to be that there are signs and a console to key your number in to. I didn't see it.... Surely the restaurant staff should have made sure that I had registered. How easy would that have been. There is a similar registration system at one of the major supermarkets in Billingham and the checkout staff do exactly that. I do hope that the Toby Carvery is able to open again my experience has always been a good one... This issue of parking has soured things for me”
“This used to be a local haunt for me, living in Hartlepool. Sadly, as shabby as it was prior to the refurb, standards have gone down in most other ways, since. I went on the evening of Fri 24th Jan 2020, after a long break from it. It was unusually quiet in comparison to the past. Even so, there was one person at the reception desk, checking his computer, then escorting his customer to their table, while the queue just got longer. He should have dealt with the checking in, while somebody else, did the ushering!! When he seated us, he said the waitress would be straight over to take our drinks order. Nobody appeared and so after 10 minutes, I returned to him, and he himself, took our order. The 5 of us, went to the carvery, and on our return, still no drinks, they did finally arrive, shortly afterwards. We felt that there were too many potato/pasta choices, and too few vegetable ones. The food wasn't that hot, especially the vegetarian gravy. In our opinion, there wasn't any sign of the old efficient management/serving staff. Could this be part of the reason for the dwindling standards!! Had it been busy, we would have understood more!!”
“Terrible staff. Luke warm food.
Also an £85 parking charge that they DO NOT tell you about in the restaurant!!!!!
If you are LUCKY enough to spot the sign on the way out and go back inside, when the waitresses have finished talking they point at the bar and say they is a tablet in there to put in your reg!!!!”
