“I ordered whole chicken carcus for making stock and got chopped up pieces. Also disappointed with the mince lamb as it was very fatty. I hope that the quality doesn’t go downhill.”

“Always consistent quality. Burgers and sausages are great. Product delivery has always been on time. However the minimim order delivery charge is a bit too high and I am often reluctant to order.”

Dear Shakeel, Thank you for your review. We are sorry to hear of your less than satisfactory experience with our products. Whilst we appreciate your concerns, we’d like to inform you that Sirloins generally have a classic layer of fat at the top of them. Our butchers would normally prepare the sirloin steak unless asked to be trimmed We would like to explain that with red meats, there is always a natural variation in colour, and we would like to reassure you that we do quality checks on all the products. Contrary to popular belief, the variation in the colour of the meat is actually nothing to worry about. Sometimes, red meats change into a brown-grey colour due to a naturally occurring process that causes the pigment in the meat to change colour when in comes in contact with oxygen. The change in colour doesn’t mean the meat is old or stale, and the meat is still perfectly fine to consume. The change in colour may vary in different cuts of the meat and also depends upon their individual exposure to air. However, if the meat is observed to have an off odor, it should not be used. Photographic evidence is a standard procedure at Saffron Alley and in the future, and it helps us to provide a quick resolution to our customers. Whilst we now know we have no opportunity to inspect and share your feedback with the team. For now, we can offer you a replacement of your order to restore your trust in us.
