We stayed at Brookside as we were attending a family wedding weekend at Holesfoot, just 5 minutes drive away. The bonus however of Brookside was both what it provided and its immediate location.
The cottage is well provided for a family including a dog. Overlooking the village green with the river running through and sheep grazing. Maulds Meaburn is also convenient for the M6 and A66 plus its 20 minutes to Appleby and slightly longer to Penrith. Good car parking.
