I bought this camera for my wife to take on her walks to capture wildlife, landscapes and general use as she finds my DSLR is far too heavy and complex. I now love using it too! The compact size masks the quality of photographs this camera can take. The optical zoom is absolutely amazing, which goes even further with the iA+ setting, and we particularly like the tiltable screen, ideal for low shots. Use it as a "point and shoot" or adventure into the scene modes or the more advanced settings. This is a significant upgrade from the cameras on mobile phones and I have no hesitation in recommending it.
