Purchase this "Starter kit" out of curiosity after seeing videos on YouTube, and being ex military I have training and experience in various weapon types. I was also a member of a shooting club, which allowed me to fire a variety of modern and ancient pistols and rifles for free :)
On to the pistol: I was pleasently surprised by the weight and balance of this Glock replica. Although I hadn't actually come across this model in my military days, it felt like I imagine a real Glock would.
I did not test fire it until I received some silicone oil, which was not included with the kit, and purchased seperately.
Having watched several videos on airsoft maintenance beforehand, I lubed up the required parts, installed some gas in the magazine and then fumbled with the speedloader for quite some time before I got the hang of it, losing dozens of rounds in the process...
I do find that the slide is a little "sticky" and doesn't always slide fully forwards when manually opereating it. Maybe this will wear in after some use. No problem with the gas blowback however, which is extremely positive.
I was surprised at how loud this pistol is, and how much recoil comes from the blowback, which gives it a very realistic feel, although obviously not as powerful as the "real thing". Accuracy is very good, with the "Hop up" set to the middle setting from the factory. I was firing at a range of about 10 meters into a dual layer cardboard box, (in lieu of getting a proper target) and in virtually every shot, the rounds fully penetrated the cardboard and grouping was excellent at this range.
Overall I am very happy with the purchase, and highly recommend it for the sheer "fun factor".
