This is my third pair of Bayleys. Admittedly, the first pair had a few cosmetic issues but they were a perfect fit for my wider feet - AND some internal ankle-Meccano. The second pair has the lighter studded sole, has no quality problems and they were my go-to shoes over the Summer. I broke all the rules with this latest pair. Pretty much straight out of the box, I took them as my only footwear on a 3-week Autumn city tour through Nottingham, Norwich and London. I wore them continually: on trains, on country walks, sightseeing, shopping - and wining & dining in all grades of venues. As the trip proceeded, the boots became more and more comfortable, assisted by an occasional smear of mink oil, and additional orthopaedic/thermal insoles. The extra grip from the Commando sole was very welcome to cope with some extremely wet weather - and particularly slippy autumnal pavements. As you can probably tell, I'm very, very, happy with these boots; theyve looked after me and I promise to take care of them.
