I seeded a small bare area under an apple tree in May and used the exact weight of seed instructed. It germinated very well under a sheet of fleece and has grown into a thick coverage of plants - mostly teasel, ox eye daisy, lots of sweet woodruff and knapweed, plus an odd field poppy and a borage! I watered it during the hot summer at times and it survived ok. I’m not sure if I should thin this out at all or just leave to natural selection over the winter ? Any advice?
