I’ve seen a few reviews saying how the loop is a little big for the straps sold, however yes when the watch is laid out flat this may be true but when you tuck the NATO tail into the loop, like a loop is designed for… it comfortably holds the excess strap and does the job exactly how its intended to do. I do believe however a small discount should be applied if your purchasing along side the 1973 strap, also other colours should be available to match the Navy, black etc colour variants of the 1973
