I initially joined the BACtrack club to have an official, court approved record of my sobriety. I did this voluntarily to show the court that I am serious about my sobriety and to improve my chances of being able to see my children. As time progressed and I increased my sober time, I realized that the constant reminder of taking these tests (no matter where I am) has tremendously helped me in staying sober. I carry my BACtrack in my pocket everywhere. I put an Apple AirTag into the case so anytime I mistakenly leave it behind, I am reminded to go back and get it.
Yesterday was my first official visitation with my kids after a 6 month estrangement. My 2 boys saw me taking the test and I explained the entire situation to them (living a life of complete honesty). They easily understood the technology and it was no big deal for them…even at ages 9 and 6.
Not only has this BACtrack helped me to stay sober, it has helped me get back into my children's lives in a way that I never could have done without it. I owe so much to this tiny piece of technology. I would like to personally thank the developers of the BACtrack. You have developed a product that is discrete enough to hide in my pocket yet powerful enough to help give me my life back.
Thank you again for creating the BACtrack. I owe you my life and recommend this to anyone who is even remotely thinking about holding themselves accountable. I hope this will help even one alcoholic out there to stay sober for one more day.
Remember, one day at a time. If you feel like drinking please reach out to your sponsor or local AA group. I love you brothers and sisters!
