True confession: this Marloe Aerodyne Electra (on Black Lather with Sand Stitching) is my 11th Marloe timepiece, a journey which began with the Lomond Chronoscope back in 2017. I collect watches and my collection includes examples from IWC, Omega, Cartier, Universal Geneve , Chronoswiss, and microbrands like Dubey & Schaldenbrand, Schaumburg, Ikepod and Nordic. I am rarely as captivated by a watch as I am by a Marloe. Though I tried to resist, the perfect combination of form and function in this soon-to-be classic watch compelled me to add it to my collection, and to wear it with joy and pride. The dial is an understated masterpiece in itself, with visual allusions to flight and aircraft, of course, with Art Deco details and color accents that combine to make it readable, stylish and eye=catching. The smallish stepped brushed steel case makes it perfect on the wrist as well, not too big nor too small, a Goldilocks watch that sits "just right." Best of all it does this at an extraordinary value price, delivering more watch at this price point than one would expect. The "Navy Rayon" strap I ordered (which titles this review) experienced a minor developing wear issue; Oliver reached out to let me know, and offered a fix or another strap choice BEFORE my watch even shipped. THAT is great service too. I will keep an eye on this watchmaker and design firm for a long time. I make a photo array for my watches and include mine for the Electra here, along with my Marloe "family" now gorown bigger by one.
