Pros: Opening and closing the tent is very simple and takes minimal effort.
The build quality of the tent frame, tent material and flooring is exceptional. The tent material used is super-heavy duty and I foresee it lasting for a long time. The tent is completely blackout, which is a huge bonus for those sunny mornings. There are plenty of windows and two skylights if you're looking for a breeze and some sunshine. The tent material breathes nicely resulting in no condensation on those cool mornings.
Cons: Pictured below, my tent came with a dent in the underside of the flooring. The box it was shipped in had no damage, so I'm assuming this happened in the factory. Additionally, I have a small hole in the mesh window (not pictured) just below the skylight. Luckily, it comes with a rainfly that I don't plan on taking off but somehow these issues both passed QC inspection.
Also, the mounting channels are extremely short. I have a Yakima Overhaul HD bed rack with side rails and I unfortunately had to remove the side rails to push my cross bars closer to each other so I could mount the tent. The instructions for the x-cover mini shows minimum crossbar distance but they should show the maximum crossbar distance for people who have a larger spread with their bed racks. This was a huge let down for me having to give up my side rails. Now I have to rethink my entire bed rack setup.
The cover has what looks like a stitching issue as their is a stress point (pictured) that may rip over time. Time will tell.
Overall, a great tent and I have no regrets. Hopefully, iKamper will reach out to me about some longer mounting channels to switch to.
