Stayed here for one night stopover on way from Kent to North Yorkshire. Perfectly placed on the A1 without having to drive a way out of your way. Thought it might be noisy from the road but was pleasantly surprised it wasn’t. We had our doggie with us so had to have a dog friendly room which was a little tired and in need of refurbishing. Main thing was it was clean and toasty warm. Had an over the bath shower looked quite old but was good and powerful. Double bed was really comfy so had a great night sleep. Have to big up the staff, ALL of them, from a great Chef who did amazing food & breakfast to the two wonderful super friendly ladies, Vicky & Kirsty who both went above and beyond to meet & exceed all our needs. Both ladies worked tirelessly covering reception, bar, taking food orders serving food & clearing up too, tired me out watching them. We loved the bar and restaurant areas both really cosy and our dog loved the rabbits in the expanse of garden out the side of the hotel, mainly viewing them from the window in the bar 😊 Would recommend this hotel, great value for money, we will be returning. Thanks again to all the staff you were superb.
