“For years I've struggled with my scalp. Grew up with dandruff which was easy enough to deal with when using dandruff shampoos, however in my very late 20's I started to get skin coloured scabs and my scalp started to get super itchy, red and irritated. Was using a tar based medical shampoo recommended by my skin specialist for years but it smelled like burnt car tyres which gave me headaches so stopped using it.
Figured I'd give this a shot. I honestly wasn't expecting much from it as it's not a medicated shampoo but daaamn it's good. Not as 100% effective as the medicated shampoo, but it's close to it.
With the medicated shampoo, I washed with it once a week/fortnight for effectiveness, with the Ethique shampoo I have to use it every 2-3 days for it to be as effective as possible for my problem.
I have now bought another 2 bars as I'm in love. It's been about a month I've been using it and my scalp scabs have died down by about 80%. The redness in my scalp is completely gone in most areas and itching is down. Some days I get no itchiness, other days its very mild but not bad enough that I need to itch my whole scalp constantly - just occasional spots require a quick one finger itch.
While my tar shampoo was instant relief, the Ethique did take a few thorough washes to calm my scalp down. But I'm super happy with it and not going to change now.”
