“I really like using this - it leaves my hair super squeaky clean and with some body (which is normally completely lost with normal shampoo), but I'm a bloke, with short hair. Sadly, my wife doesn't like it, she thinks it makes her hair too thick (!) and has given up on it. I will try get her to take on some of the suggestions below and see if it makes a difference. I don't want to keep buying plastic bottles!”
“I've been using this shampoo bar since around May this year. It took some time for my hair to get used to the bar, but since it has I am loving it! I find that my hair is sometimes slightly waxier after using, but at the moment I am also using an old blonde shampoo as well so that mostly takes that feeling away. I also find that if I blowdry my hair using a round brush, some of the residue is brushed out. I have been washing my hair only once a week for the past several months, but I am finding that I can stretch it out to once a fortnight. I have no need for conditioner and judging from the size of the remaining bar, I will probably get a full year or more out of one bar. Definitely recommend!”
“This was my first try at a solid shampoo/conditioner bar (I tried the conditioner bar for normal hair). I’m very keen to try to reduce my plastic waste and thought these are a fantastic idea to do that.
Unfortunately, it didn’t work well with my hair, it left it VERY fluffy and frizzy, with a straw like feeling. It was worked well with certain types of hair, based on the reviews, but not with mine.
People will have to trial and error with this to see whether it works for them, but did not work for me sadly! :/”

“this stuff is amazing when you use it right! Leaves hair soft, shiny, smelling great. after a month of experimenting, here is my best advice. Make sure you thoroughly wet your hair, then apply, less is more, as if you apply a lot you will get build up. Thoroughly work into your hair with fingers. If you have long hair i would suggest putting your hair in a loose low pony and applying it to your hair to avoid build up at the nape of your neck. THOROUGHLY rinse, at least one full minute of massaging scalp and rinsing. I would suggest using apple cider vinegar after (50/50 with water) and spraying on your hair to condition and remove build up. If you still have build up during your hair transitioning to a natural shampoo (this can happen as you are no longer stripping oil from your hair), then put a bit of bicarb soda in a cup of water and tipping in your hair before using shampoo to help remove build up. You may also need to wash your hair more frequently, as this doesnt strip all the oil from your hair (i wash every 2nd day) This product will last ages and leave your amazing if you stick through with it!!”
“I loathe washing my hair so this shampoo bar is a godsend. My hair does not need to be washed more than once a week. My hair is clean and my scalp is much less itchy than it was. I'm not using a conditioner at all. I'm aiming for no plastic bottles in the bathrooms at all, just have to convince my daughters now.”
