Sugarplum Nourishing Lip Balm Reviews

4.1 Rating 22 Reviews
This lip balm wasn't for me but I gave it to my sister who likes it. The colour is a plum red and the consistency is quite waxy and hard. I read a comment from Fauna and Fauna that this balm is the hardest in the range because of the mica in it so I'm interested to try a non-coloured balm next.

The colour is not for me, doesn’t smell like anything and wasn’t worth keeping as I didn’t like the texture either

I totally love the colour tint on this new product as it gives me just enough colour for my zoom work meetings

Nice light minty smell and the cherry colour is cute. It is a thicker balm (a bit thicker than Burt's Bees), but I'm enjoying it for the winter. The packaging seems pretty sturdy but it will be interesting to see how this holds up in the bottom of my handbag. As with the deodorants in this format you also have to be careful when pushing it up. All in all I'm pretty happy with it and it's one more small thing to help reduce plastic.

Nice colour and smell, in paper/cardboard packaging (which is what made me buy it!) BUT it is a bit hard to put on (perhaps because of the cold) so I found I was reaching out for another lip balm under it first! Also, you have to push up the product to use it so if you accidentally push it up a little too much, you can't put it back down.

I'm a huge Ethique fan but they've lost me on this one. The colour looks like I've eaten a red ice block and the packaging is difficult to use. You need to push it up from the base but if you go too far there's no easy way to get it back down again. I love that they are trying to introduce something in paper packaging but this one needs a bit more development. At almost $12 it's also pretty expensive for lip balm.

This tinted balm laves a pretty and natural looking pale cherry tint. The mint smell is, at first, very strong (my cat sniffed me and ran away!) but soon fades. It made my lips tingle, and I'm still unsure whether I like that or not! This is quite a thick waxy balm with a fairly matte finish. I prefer the more moisturising feel of the Dirty Hippie tinted lip balms. It's a pity because I like the colour but I don't like the feel and finish. You could throw the leftover packaging in your compost, which is great. I'll certainly use this up, but I won't buy it again. Give it a try if you want a subtle tint instead of lipstick and you prefer a relatively matte finish.
