“I had trouble deciding which size to buy, small is convenient but with a short lived sound. I would have bought to small ones if they were a little longer, my thoughts were to have one in each hand and turning one after the other would lesson the quiet spell that occurs at the point of turn (maybe it's just my lack of technique). I ended up choosing the 60cm, hoping for a compromise (completely personal, I reckon I'd prefer two 40cm ones for consistancy). Tilting 30-35 degrees gives 10-15 seconds of sound, and if you tilt fast the sound is louder giving it more ability to cut through. The 60cm length weighs in at about 600gr. I sincerely hope that nothing I have "said" deters anyone from these rainsticks, I only wanted to give some detail from a personal independant source. If you like the effect from rainsticks or are someone who is concentrating on percussion and sound effects, I reckon you need at least one of these in your collection.”
