“I got this as a gift and it's beautiful. You can tell that the creators have put their best into celebrating one of God's providence: Art. Each page has beautiful photography from nature and objects representing the passage. I believe this product serves the best in its creative aspects. However, the translations available (NLT and KJV from what I've searched so far- I've been gifted NLT of the Book of John) fail to reach the same par of beauty that the photography contains. The fuller meaning and poetic beauty of the original writings of the Bible are lost in translation. I've been reading the Alabaster version simultaneously with my ESV bible so that I can appreciate maximal beauty in word and art.
tl;dr I would not recommend the series as a standalone because of the translation, but it makes a great and beautiful supplement to enjoy God's providence through art!”
