“Matthew is one of the four “gospel” books of the Bible. It was the first gospel book to be written so naturally it peeked my interest first when I really began studying these four books again recently.
This book is written from an eye witness of a disciple, friend and follower of Jesus Christ. I did not take the pages lightly as I poured over them thinking what it must have been like to have been standing right next to Jesus when miracles were performed, when he loved the broken, and saved the world.
The lessons from the “sermon on the mount” will forever be my favorite part of the book of Matthew! It changed my life in how I live day to day because of the teachings of Jesus. Jesus says that his way and his kingdom is different from this world. This upside down kingdom is hard because it goes against the ways of my flesh but man these words of Jesus made me want to eagerly change my heart and actions and I am better because of it!
