As I was reading through the book of Exodus I felt like I was actually in the story of Exodus as a bystander. The images bring new life to the stories as they give us visual representations of the story to reflect on.
The photographs they use are incredibly artistic and reflective while still representing the story well. The reason I gave the book a four instead of a five was only that the images are a bit too modern for my liking. Aesthetically I love them, but they make me think of the book of Exodus as it would look now, in this world in 2023. There are pros and cons to that method but I would love to see a mixture maybe of more historically relevant photos as well as modern-day imagery.”
