“My 7# chihuahua was prescribed amlodipine in liquid form by his cardiologist at UF. I noticed I could buy it here at Allivet in pill form and save a lot of money. I happened to read the side effects and it mentioned a small percentage of dogs can get gingival hyperplasia where the gums grow over the teeth. Just 2 weeks ago I thought my dog lost some front teeth and after examining him I could see the back of them on one side so dismissed it as an issue. I’m thankful I read this and am waiting for a callback from his doctor about a substitution. From what I read they will go back to normal soon after stopping. I gave 3 stars but can’t really rate as I didn’t notice it helping him and only side effect were the gums.”
