“We crushed the large pill, mixed it with food and put a few treats on top to jump start each cat's appetite. Two of our three cats ate the food right up, but the one known for eating anything and everything tried it, then wouldn't eat it. The pill smelled strongly like poison, but to me tasted like cooked barley--hardly had any flavor but was pleasant. Just that the smell was off putting. And the cat that wouldn't eat it, she wasn't that hungry at first, so she didn't eat much, which was my mistake. So I wrapped the food in Saran Wrap and saved it for a few hours until she wanted to eat again and by then, it seems like the moisture in the canned food made the pill smell really strong. So I think next time I'll make sure that she is more hungry to start with, use a dryer food, and if I have further problems I'll try a little creamy peanut butter, but I otherwise have never given that to my cats. Or maybe I'll get a special, really good tasting food just for this pill. The fleas were sick and dying within 3 hours. By nighttime, I couldn't find a live one. We have a really bad season here, and my cats go outside. So they are fine when they are inside, they go out and get bitten. Then the fleas die. I don't think I can expect this treatment to kill every flea in the 20 local blocks they probably travel over and the numerous cats carrying them whose owners don't treat for fleas. Advantage flea killer has stopped working here, so we need a new treatment. I'm going to get the word out that this works. I think the problem with Advantage is that it doesn't get put where it needs to be--it gets on the fur. If it does make it to the skin, it runs down the neck.”
