“My rescued horse had developed a very uncharacteristic "spookiness" along with a neurologic diagnosis. The vet suspected a Vit. E deficiency, which is apparently common in horses that have been malnourished or "starved." Sure enough, his Vit E count came back extremely low. We jump-started with a strong dose of liquid Vit E before switching to the powder for maintenance. His Vit E now tests normal and he is no longer so "spooky." I also have a rescued pony who was severely starved multiple times so we tested her and she tested extremely low on Vit. E, too. She was very spooky, as well, but she had been beaten so we thought it was all just fear. After supplementing her, however, we saw an improvement in her mental state as well.
