“My dog has Addison's disease. He has had it for 4 years. He is 9 years old. He is a silver lab. He is also on 5 mg of prednisone daily. Over the last two years while on these drugs, he has lost 60% to 70% of his hair. He used to have a beautiful coat and a big old fluffy neck. Now he has no neck hair. His sides are almost completely bald, and his head is about 70% bald. His weight went from 95 lb, down to 75 lb when he was diagnosed. Since being on these meds, his weight has ballooned to 130 lb. He drinks water constantly, and has an insatiable appetite. I give him three and a half cups of food a day, which should help him lose weight, as it's also a healthy weight dog food. This has proven to be to no avail. Thus, I don't really know how to rate this product. I mean, my dog's alive, which is wonderful, but the weight gain and the hair loss is not so wonderful. I know Addison's will cut his life short, and the excess weight is expected to do the same. I feel lucky to have him at 9 years, especially with having Addison's disease. I hope to have him for many more years, but I know that's being hopeful and not realistic. I don't know if it's the Zika portal suspension or the prednisone, or the combination of both, but I do know he is still alive, and the few times that he got his injection late, his health was in decline. So, I do know he needs it, I'm not sure if he's on the right dosage or not. I cannot afford the vet visits and the proper blood work. It breaks my heart that I cannot care for my boy the way I want to. The way he deserves to be cared for. This medication is very expensive. It's 20% of my monthly income, but I know he needs it. I put his health ahead of mine every month, because I love him so much and he's been my only constant for the last 9 years.”
