“This medicine will work on bacteria with cell walls, but its activity is in binding DNA complex. It is effective against gram negative and also against the difficult to treat Pseudomonas genus. This is in the quinolone family of medicines and may interfere with developing cartilage. While the amount from topical eye application is probably negligible to the body - it is not used in pregnant animals or puppies.”
